Silver Salmon (coho): Silvers are fun and feisty fighters who put on a show the likes of the greatest aerialists. Coho fishing usually starts around the end of July and around the second week of August it peaks and can last through the end of the month. Casting and retrieving our guides’ stealthy spinning lures is our main method for fishing coho salmon.

Silvers are the second largest salmon of species we target ranging in the 8- to 10-pound average. A coho of about 15 pounds would be a monster on the Naknek. Anglers may keep 5 per day, 5 in possession of silver salmon under the current regulations. When silver salmon fishing is at its peak anglers can often limit out with just a morning of fishing leaving the afternoons for exploring other fisheries or relaxing at the lodge.

See the current Alaska Department of Fish & Game regulations for the most up-to-date information.
