FAQ

Fishing License

Anglers can purchase Alaska fishing licenses online prior to your trip and print them at home.  Make sure to purchase a king salmon stamp if you are coming during their run from mid-June to late July and order the license for at least as long as you’ll be fishing with us. We can run you to a local store in King Salmon if you lose or forget your license.

Fish Processing

Your fishing guides will fillet and clean your salmon and vacuum seal them with our commercial-grade, air-chambered vacuum sealer ensuring the highest-quality table fare available to take home. It gets placed in our freezer immediately to begin the freezing process. Clients should bring an ice chest or fish box for transport as they are in limited supply in King Salmon. If guests are staying overnight in Anchorage before departing for home there are several good hotels in the immediate area we can recommend with fish storage freezers. There is also one at the airport you can use for a fee.

Weather

Throughout the summer guests can expect an average of 40 to 70° F with a likely chance of rain daily. Temperatures drop in August and September while rain fall increases. Plan to bring quality rain gear and multiple warm layers. Check out the What to Bring list.

Gratuities

We appreciate any tip you want to give our team. The industry average is 10% of the trip cost but guests should feel free to tip more or less congruent with the level of service you received and we encourage you to offer what feels good to you. Please feel free to hand tips directly to your guide or chef so they can say thank you.
