Think of your favorite photo of an Alaskan brown “grizzly” bear; it was most likely taken at Katmai National park. Fox Bay Lodge borders this scenic area. The region is world famous for bear viewing and photographic opportunities. Approximately 10,000 bears populate this region, making them more abundant than people. Bristol Bay offers the adventurer five different eco-systems: marine, river, tundra, boreal forest and lake. Spring and fall migrations include numerous shore birds, such as ducks and geese. The spring is truly spectacular as thousands of majestic swan migrate to the waters in front of Fox Bay Lodge.
